Tanzanites are now found in blue, green,yellow, pink, and brwon, but all will change to a blue color when heated. The stone was added to the official December birthstone list in 2004. It has a low resistance to ultrasound, therefore, do not clean with ultrasonic cleaner. Zoisite was first discovered by Baron von Zois in Austria, and called Saualpite.
