This antique Georgian hand painted paper folding fan is a true piece of history, likely originating from England or France. The beautifully crafted multi-color design of the leaf showcases on one side a detailed mythological scene in nature, with the three graces accompanied by cherubs, and an exquisitely executed floral and fruit pattern on reverse. The fan is made of hand painted paper leaf and rounded ribs with a mother of pearl inlaid pivot, measuring approximately 10 inches long by 1 inch (folded) or 18 inch span. It has a striking look that is a classic example of the Georgian era.

The item is an antique and sold as is. The item may show wear, fading, scratches, tears, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. In particular, note that one of the ribs has come unattached from the leaf as shown in photos. Also, the paper leaf shows wear commiserate to its age. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
