- This product is an assembly kit. The photo shows it after assembly and painting. In the past, the Kiso Forest Railway operated in the Kiso Valley of Nagano Prefecture to transport timber from the national forests. This model is a replica of the Baldwin steam locomotive that operated there. The locomotive has been modeled several times. The locomotive is said to be difficult to run smoothly when modeled because of its unique wheel arrangement, but by driving the driven wheels independently as well, the model achieves smooth passing through curves while increasing tractive effort.
