The Scofield Bible has several innovative features. Most importantly, it

includes a commentary on the biblical text alongside the Bible instead of in a

separate volume. Cyrus Ingerson Scofield (1843 –1921) was an American

theologian, minister, and writer whose best-selling annotated Bible popularised

futurism and dispensationalism among fundamentalist Christians. This Bible also

includes a concise concordance – a verbal index that lists Biblical words alphabetically, with indications

to enable the inquirer to find the passages of the Bible where the words occur.
