Nanbu iron kettle is a traditional craft of Iwate with a history of 900 years.
It has a rustic and warm texture, and its texture increases the more you use it.
Boiled water is rich in divalent iron, which is easily absorbed by the body, and is an effective way to replenish iron.
Before the first use and after use, please rinse the inside of the iron kettle lightly, then fill it with water until the 8th minute and boil it for about 15 minutes.
(The hot water may become cloudy at first, so repeat the process about 3 times until the water becomes colorless before using.)
Even if you have not used the product for a long time, please perform the same procedure when you first start using it.
After use, do not leave any hot water left inside the iron kettle; be sure to transfer it to a pot, etc., empty it, and dry it before storing it.
If the water becomes cloudy due to rust, first rinse lightly and add water until the 8th minute mark, then wrap about 1 teaspoon of sencha in a cloth and leave it in the water for 15 to 20 minutes, being careful not to let it dry. Please simmer.
This is a gold-preventing method that uses a chemical reaction between tannin and iron. Repeating this process 2 to 3 times will be even more effective.
Afterwards, rinse lightly and boil water once or twice before use.
