This 202-year-old tablespoon is in excellent condition. It is marked with the assayers mark for London, England and the date mark for 1818 in addition to the hallmark for Royes and Dix. Solomon Royes was born in 1774 and died in 1842. John East Dix was born sometime before 1781 and died in 1858. For unknown reasons the partnership between Roles and Dix lasted only about one year.

This tablespoon measures 8 3/4" in length and weighs 64 grams or just over 2 troy ounces.
