THE COMPANY AND ITS MISSION
Over a hundred years of quality and tradition in the art of creating statues, that have last over four generations.
This is the business card of Fontanini company, established in 1908 in Bagni di Lucca. A brand that has become, internationally, a synonym of an expression of high class craftsmanship and in most part of the world is associated with nativities and religious articles of high quality.
The generational success of the company is in the awareness that its production must have the characteristics of always: warmth, sincerity, love and passion of all those who contribute to the creation of these marvellous pieces, sure that the desire to continue the ancient tradition is the key to future success.
HOW A FONTANINI STATUE COMES UP
The idea for the development of a new product is the result of a cooperation between the company, the sculptors and their distributors in national and international markets.
Once the subject to develop has been decided , the Company agrees with the sculptor the general characteristics and dimensions of the figure, leaving the artist free to develop the model required according to his own inspiration. An artist who works free to express himself will always offer the best of himself.
Once the model has been made, the metal mold is created which, before going into production, is cleverly chiseled to enhance all the details.
Subsequently we proceed to the "mass production" of the figure. Most of the products are made of P.V.C., polymer prepared on rigorous technical indications of the company, unique for its plasticity that allows to capture all the details of the original figure. At the same time it is extremely resistant to scratches or cracks due to accidental falls.
Once the "unfinished" products have been produced, they are distributed to the artisans’ homes for decoration, a process entirely handmade . This is the most fascinating phase of production: in the small villages of the Lucchese hills the historical tradition bound to the "painting of the figurines" is very much alive.
After decoration, the products are returned to the factory where they are checked and packaged carefully ready to be shipped all over the world.
