This antique American silver ladies card case by Battin & Co of New
Jersey, features allover detailed hand engraving. At the center of the
front is a cartouche with the hand engraved initials EL. The case
includes a finger ring on chains. Gilded interior.
Measurements: the case alone is 3-3/4” x almost 2-7/8”. With the chain and finger ring, the length is 7-5/8”

Hallmarks: stamped on the inside rim with sterling, 6 (likely a pattern number), and the maker’s logo
Excellent
condition. The lid does not snap closed. It is held in place
primarily through gravity. There is a jeweler’s scratch mark alongside
the hallmarks.
