The condition of the buttons are new / unused.

On each button, is a photograph of Al Gore and Joe lieberman.  Above their photograph it says:

The buttons measure approximately 2 1/8" across.

In addition to each state, there are buttons for 

• Guam
• Puerto Rico
• Virgin Islands 
• Washington DC

On the back i=of each button is a small sticker from the manufacturer Tigereye Design.
