You are looking at a ticket stub for the game between the Kansas City Royals and California Angels which took place on September 30, 1990 at Anaheim Stadium. The Angels hosted Fan Appreciation Day as the Angels would play the three remaining games of the season on the road.

Although Kevin Appier and Scott Lewis dueled to a 1-1 game through 8, the two hurlers decidedly were not the story of this game. 18-year veteran 2nd baseman, 8-time Gold Glover, and Kansas City lifer Frank White was playing in his final game. In the 9th, KC manager John Wathan needed to find a way to score and grab a road win. White was due up first in the 9th, and Wathan decided to lift White for a pinch hitter. All-History athlete Bo Jackson happened to be sitting on the bench, and Wathan used Bo as the pinch hitter. Of course, Bo crushed a home run to right field to give the Crowns a 2-1 lead. Not only was this Frank White’s final game, it was also Bo Jackson’s final home run with the Royals. Closer Jeff Montgomery retired the Halos in the bottom of the 9th to preserve the victory.
