Beautiful, superior quality, mid Victorian yellow gold earrings, in their original luxury fitted box. Circa 1870, the earrings are not marked, which was still quite typical of the period, but are 9ct gold.

   It is extremely rare to find antique jewellery with it's original presentation box, and both be in equally beautiful condition.

    Quality antique jewellery boxes like this were made of leather, which here is gilded to the edges; the inner lid is lined with royal blue silk, and the fitted bed covered with midnight blue silk velvet. The clasp works cleanly and crisply.

The earrings are supremely elegant and the design a subtle nod to the fashion for the styles and fashions of the Classical world.

     The earrings are of substantial weight and both wear and display beautifully. They are in very good antique condition and immediately wearable.
