MOLECULAR SIEVES This auction is for a full foil pouch of molecular sieves containing 120 sieves. These packets are put in film cans with your movie film to absorb acetic acid (vinegar syndrome). A must for storing 8mm, 16mm, or 35mm film archivally.  Helps prevent vinegar syndrome in healthy prints, or helps lengthen the life of vinegar prints. Sometimes a larger film can is necessary to accommodate the packets. In many cases there is room around the edge of the reel in the can.  This is a small investment to save a film that could be worth hundreds of dollars, or your home movies that cannot be replaced. IL residents add 9.75% sales tax. Shipping free in USA.  Please visit our E-Bay store for other film goodies.

Separate the sieves using scissors. In 16mm or 8mm
    Use 3 for 2000ft subject
    2 for a 1000ft subject
    and 1 for a 400ft subject.

For 35mm double the 16mm sieve amount.

Close the sieves in the film can with the film.
Inspect at least once a year or less for odor.
Use twice the recommended amount of sieves if the print smells of vinegar and inspect at least every 2 months.
