Description of item for sale: This elegant pair of balustrades is from France and the pair dates to the very late 1800's or early 1900's.  They're made from solid wood that is faux painted to a warm dark walnut color.  The finish is nicely patinated with some chipping to give it a perfect antique look.  The paint is very solidly bonded with no loose/peeling paint.  These balustrades are in very good antique condition: straight and solid and with no woodworm or dry rot.  Note the unfinished ends where they were fastened to walls.  Dimensions:  Each balustrade is 42-1/2" tall, 27-1/2" wide and 7" thick.  (810)
