1) Its versatility is very powerful, and it is basically suitable for any brand of Reel to Reel recorder you watch on the market (except for Nagra). Especially with the shrink center axis structure, it can not only lock the conventional trident spindle, but also lock the smooth spindle (such as AMPEX ATR102 or Otari 5050)
2) It locks the central axis by rotating the cup contraction retainer, which is very reliable and firm.
3) It adjusts the expansion of the spring by rotating the diamond textured ring to lock the tape reel, making it more effective, convenient, and sturdy, (At the same time, its design has thickness compensation function. The unconventional thickness of the 1/4 tape reel has very strong locking ability! For example, many thin 1/4 tape reels cannot be truly locked by NAB ADAPTER, and tape reels made of too thick plastic casing material may appear clumsy to use on some NAB adapters.)
4) Its bottom is equipped with a concentricity adjustment bayonet, which, combined with the expansion principle of the spring, can 100% ensure that the tape reel is fixed at the center point (while compensating for the problem of some adapters and tape reels becoming loose due to uneven hole sizes in the tape reel). Its concentricity is definitely better than any adapter.
5. We have been selling REEL to REEL related products for many years and have realized that the locking caused by the transition between the thread and the thread teeth during rotation can reduce service life and increase additional wear between the diamond pattern ring and the base. In the new NAB ADAPTER, we have added two positioning points within the adapter. This effectively solves the above problems and eliminates unnecessary twisting travel, making it more convenient and fast to lock the Tape REEL during use When twisting, at the starting and ending points, it will emit a clear instrument sound when twisting to the starting and ending points, to remind of the locked or completely released state. And it gives people a high-end feeling.
6. NAB ADAPTER uses a ball bearing structure in the part where the metal cup is combined with a plastic base, with a circle of stainless steel balls inside. When twisting the diamond pattern circle, it is easier and feels better; At the same time, it eliminates the noise of metal springs and metal diamond rings, which can effectively extend their service life.
