SMALL 1850’S STEEL ENGRAVING OF RHYL (NORTH WALES), W. BANKS & SON, ENGRAVERS

Offered here is a small steel engraving – it measures 8-1/2” x 5-1/4” is made of heavy card stock and is a very detailed scene of Rhyl, a seaside town (Denbighshire County, Flintshire, North Wales) on the coast of the Irish Sea at the mouth of the River Clwyd.  The etching dates to the 1850’s, was made by W. Banks & Son, Engravers and published by Thomas Catherall,  Chester.  I am the collector of antique ephemera and this was in the leaf of a book I purchased some while ago.  There is some bending of the edges, probably from the poor storage and a few smudges on the front, but this work is offered “as is” as pictured and described – it is a point of interest.
