In very good condition, 4 antique chromolithographs of scenes from Shakespeare made by Victorian illustrator and artist Sir John Gilbert RA (1817-1897). The pictures come from "The Library Shakespeare" published by William Mackenzie in 1890. The size of the pictures is about 14.9 cm x 19.9 cm and they are fixed onto thin cream coloured card of size about 21.8 cm x 30.3 cm. Note that there are some library stamps in the margins. Sir John Gilbert RA was a versatile artist in many media including designs for lithography, chromolithography, and wood engravings. He was also a painter and exhibited 51 times at the Royal Academy.
