ARCTIC SUNRISE Greenpeace 2013
Ice-strengthened vessel built by Vaagen Verft, Norway and completed in 1975 as Polarbjørn for GC Rieber Shipping. She is 949 gross tons, diesel powered with two thrusters, speed 13 knots, maximum ice-breaking draft 4.7m. Purchased by Greenpeace in 1995 and renamed Arctic Sunrise. She has been involved in several incidents while campaigning, notably in 2013 when she was seized by Russian authorities in the Pechora Sea and her crew arrested while attempting to board an oil rig. She is currently in the Aegean Sea.
1:1250 scale metal model made in Germany by Rhenania Junior, No. RJ 209. It is 4.2cm (1.7in) long and finely detailed, fully painted with the Greenpeace logo on the hull.
