Caring for Damascus steel requires some thought,
as the etching process during
their creation necessitates that the steels used
are not stainless. Avoid storing
damascus steel in a leather sheath for prolonged
periods, as leather can absorb
moisture. Applying some oil (many oils will work
well) will protect the steel from
moisture and keep it pristine while the moisture
barrier remains.
