Today I want to share with you some of my favorite photo studies books from the vintage era.
These books are full of amazing images of glamour models,
actresses and movie stars from the 50s and 60s,
taken by some of the most renowned photographers of that time.
If you are a fan of figure, pinup, art, fashion, boudoir,
candid, outdoor, action or glamour photography,
you will love these books!
Here are the five books I have in my collection:
- Bunny Yeager's Camera in the Caribbean (1965):
This book features over 100 stunning photos of Bunny Yeager's models,
posing in exotic locations such as Jamaica, Haiti and Puerto Rico.
Bunny Yeager was a former pinup model herself who became one
of the most influential female photographers of her time.
- 10 Top Glamour Photographers (1959):
This book showcases the work of 10 different photographers,
who specialized in glamour photography.
Each photographer has a short biography and a selection of their best photos.
Some of the photographers included are Andre de Dienes,
Ormond Gigli, Wil Blanche and Russ Meyer.
- Bunny Yeager's Photo Studies (1960):
This book is another collection of Bunny Yeager's photos,
this time focusing on her studio work.
She demonstrates various techniques and tips for creating beautiful portraits and nudes.
She also features some of her famous models such as Diane Webber,
Maria Stinger and Lili Kardell.
- Peter Gowland's Glamour Camera (1959):
This book is a guide to glamour photography by Peter Gowland,
one of the most prolific and popular photographers of his time.
He explains how to use lighting, props, backgrounds and poses to create stunning images.
He also shows examples of his work with models such as Marianne Gaba,
Joan Kerr and Very Young Jill St. John.
- The Glamour Camera of Russ Meyer (1958):
This book is a tribute to Russ Meyer,
the legendary filmmaker and photographer who is known for his films featuring voluptuous women.
The book contains over 100 photos of his models such as Laya Raki,
Jayne Mansfield, Julie Newmar and Bettie Page.
These five books are all softbound and measure approximately 6-½" x 9" each.
They have between 113 and 144 pages each.
