Offered for sale is a rare Victorian trade card for "Harry Coleman, manufacturer of The Missenharter American Excelsior Solo and Military Band Instruments. Publisher of 'The Dominion' ... Band Music ... Langey Tutors ... Agent for 'United Service Journal' ... 'Army Journal' ... Philadelphia, Pa."

Charles (Karl) Missenharter (1829-99) sold his business to Harry Coleman in August, 1891, who kept producing the famous band instruments at the New York factory until October 1892 when his Philadelphia factory was ready. In 1895 Harry Coleman dies of a heart attack at 52. The business continued into the early 1900s under Carl Fischer.
