Olympus is a tried and true manufacturer in the microscopic world for over 100 years. This microscope is made from high quality materials and is optically superior to many of its similarly priced competitors of the day. The S Plan series objectives are top of the line in optical quality and boast a higher numerical aperture than the Plan achromat or Achromat versions usually found on this model. Installed in one of the eyepieces is a measuring reticule which is calibrated to the optical system. A certificate of calibration will be sent along with the microscope for your records.
