Customs Duties for the Schooner Nancy from Halifax; Capt. Smith, Master, for a
Cargo of Barrels of Mackerel & Herring Imported By Henry Winsor & Co.
Philadelphia, PA: Bill of lading & Entry of Merchandise form, completed
in manuscript. Dated 10 May 1862 for the Schooner Nancy; Smith, master; sailing
from Halifax and bringing in a cargo of barrels of various sizes of mackerel
and also of No. 1 herring. The goods were imported by Henry Winsor and are
listed in the packages and contents section of the form. The quantities are
calculated for customs duties and signed by the agents in charge in manuscript.
The reverse with the District and Port of Philadelphia bill of lading
affirmation printed information, partially filled-in and with receipted note of
duties paid on the blank panel at the bottom of the sheet. Form with a small
woodcut of ship-at-sea, printed and sold by John C. Clark & Son 68 Dock
Street Philadelphia. Document approx. 11" x 16 1/2" size; with old
fold lines, little nicks, closed edge-tears to the paper edges, edge-soiling;
in very good condition.
