Vintage 1960s Deer Paint By Number, Oak Picture Frame
Based on the color scheme and graphics, the completed and framed 16" x 20" panel is believed to have been offered by ART AWARD.
Of the hundred or more of various vintage deer theme paint-by-number paintings, nearly all show a deer either facing forward or sideways. This painting is most unusual showing a deer facing to the rear. The painting is exceptionally clean, very skillfully painted, and in excellent condition along with the frame.
The oak picture frame measures 22+3/4 inches by 18+3/4 inches and projects 1+14-inch. The picture frame has been professionally refinished with top coat lacquer and hand rubbed. The frame is outfitted with a corrugated board (often referred to as cardboard) backer, new eye screws with picture cable, and felt pads to protect wall surfaces. Frame joints are tight without play.
Photos are of the actual completed framed painting. Slight variation among the photos is the result of color and light balancing, and against different backgrounds.
