Description - Art Deco 1930s solid silver & black enamel box of rectangular form with a hinged lid and thumb piece

either side has marcasite bands

rich and bright silver-gilt (gold washed) interior

probably of French or Austrian origin

Fully hallmarked with the London import symbol indicating 925/ 1000 or above grade solid silver, date "u" for the year 1934 and the maker/ importer's mark "C&C" which is Cohen & Charles.

Condition - There are numerous chips and cracking to the enamel and also a few marcasites missing (please inspect end photographs). Despite this, the enamel holds well and there are is no rickety looseness or flaking

lid is secure with no looseness and the interior silver-gilt is rich and bight
