OLYMPIC Vintage Military Style Bumper Automatic Watch c. 1950s

Olympic was a brand of R.Gsell & Co., a jeweler based in New York that was founded in 1922. Run by Roland A. Gsell and his wife, both Swiss nationals, from Chaux-de-Fonds area of Switzerland, known as the "watchmaking capital of the World." Theyimmigrated through Ellis Island and took root in Scarsdale, just beyond the New York City bustle. Their residence there remained unchanged for over seven decades, until Roland's passing in the late 1990s.

This vintage Olympic bumper automatic exudes a stately military-esque charm featuring a two-tone dial with an outer shiny track with lumed Arabic numerals. Maintained in superb cosmetic condition, the watch encapsulates a finesse that suits both leisurely and professional attire.

Dial : original two-tone silver dial an outer shiny track with lumed Arabic numerals, blued-steel syringe handset with inlaid lines and sweep seconds hand.

Band : 16mm vintage new old stock pigksin leather strap.
