Widdershins & Sunwise (Book 1 & Book 2 of The Newcastle Witch Trials Trilogy) Shop Soiled

SHOP SOILED: Please note that the Widdershins paperbacks have some dusty marks on page edges, or they might have a very slight dog-ear to the cover. The covers and the pages themselves are fine. (Please see photo to get an idea.) They are new and otherwise in good condition. (They've just been found in storage from 2017.) Price reflects the shop-soiling.

You will receive a box containing two paperback books - one copy each of Widdershins and Sunwise.

Widdershins

Jane Chandler is an apprentice healer. From childhood, she and her mother have used herbs to cure the sick. But Jane will soon learn that her sheltered life in a small village is not safe from the troubles of the wider world.

From his father's beatings to his uncle's raging sermons, John Sharpe is beset by bad fortune. Fighting through personal tragedy, he finds his purpose: to become a witchfinder and save innocents from the scourge of witchcraft.

Widdershins tells the story of the women who were persecuted and the men who condemned them. Based on the little-known Newcastle witch trials, where fifteen women and one man were hanged for witchcraft on a single day in August 1650.

Sunwise

Alone in a hostile world, Jane Chandler is forced to continue her dangerous work as a healer while struggling to keep her young daughter safe. When her former lover Tom Verger returns from the navy, the two are determined to find away to be together, but the witchfinder has other plans.

Filled with vengeance, John Sharpe will stop at nothing in his sworn mission to free the world from the scourge of witchcraft.

Sunwise is a suspenseful tale of survival, love and courage, which begins where Widdershins ends.

Ideal for anyone who enjoyed The Familiars by Stacey Halls.

(Please note that these are the Impress Books first editions from 2017 and 2019. They are slightly larger than the new, second editions.)
