Vintage Japanese Copper Sake Cup

This is a vintage Japanese Copper sake cup, Sakazuki.  It's decorated with a flower. There are inscriptions on the bottom, as well as a kanji seal. This cup is a commemorative for the relocation of the former Gifu Normal School.

Sakazuki refers specifically to flat sake cups. Ochoko is a small cup that can be used to drink sake in one or two sips. Guinomi is a cup large enough to fit your nose when drinking sake.

  • Seal: サツマ朝日堂 Satsuma Asahido
  • Item weight: 27 grams
  • Packed weight: 227 grams
  • Approx. 5 cm wide x 2.5 cm tall
  • Good condition considering its age. Tarnish. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
  • This piece was purchased at the famous Osu Antique Market in Nagoya, Japan.
