The author, who has been practicing Iaido for 15 years, has created a special hanging cord using Sanada cord.
This item is made by Sumiya, a long-established workshop in Kanazawa, using Kaga Nishiki Sanada cord, which has a silk-like feel and sweat-resistant durability, and is finished by hand one by one.
The length is 240 cm, which is common for Japanese swords and iaido swords, and the width is 1.2 cm.
Because it is a high-quality Sanada cord, you can cut it to your desired length and use it as an obi tightening or handmade material, and some people use it as a blood stopper for mikoshi (portable shrines).
It can be easily passed through most chestnut shapes without getting caught. Due to the manufacturing process, there may be slight differences in length.
