This listing is for TWO replacement gaskets. Although only one is used per car. This replaces yet another unobtanium part that seems to dry up from parts supply places.

1970s-1980s thru 1990 GM cars for the most part came with a trunk lock retainer gasket. Many have been worn out, broken, discarded, or missing over the years. A restoration is not complete without one of these detail items. This is a reproduction replacement for GM p/n 1718294, which is obsolete and no longer produced or, to my knowledge, reproduced anywhere else. It fits SEVERAL GM 80s cars, including A, G, B, C, D, E, X bodies. You have to do your due dilligence to make sure this part fits your car. If not, just ask. I may can help.

This is a reproduction part that replaces the original. Same size, thickness and same neoprene closed-cell foam material which stands up to most atmospheric exposure conditions. Pre-cut center slot makes it easy to install as per original.

Most trunk lock retainers use a single screw or rivet to hold it in place and once removed, the lock retainer can be removed, and any remaining old gasket can be tossed and this new one slips right over the retainer top and down to the bottom. Less than one minute to do once the retainer fastener is removed. Neccessary part for a correct, detailed restoration on any of these classic cars.

THE RETAINER PICTURED IS NOT INCLUDED. THE ORIGINAL GM GASKET IN THE PICTURE IS NOT INCLUDED. These pictures were only used to show how it mounts and comparison to the original part.

No warranty expressed or implied. All sales final so please ensure you know it will fit your car before you order.

Please ask any and all questions prior to purchase. Thank you.
