This transmission looks to be in very good original condition as shown. I recently purchased this from a long time hot rodder. He removed this transmission from a 1960's Ranchero in good working condition to replace it with a C-4 automatic. This transmission looks great. The externals are very nice with a repair at the end of the tailhousing as shown. The repair is not the prettiest but has been successfully used for many years and miles after the repair was made. The main case carries the casting number C5AR-7006-B and a casting date of 5 E 26. The date decodes as May 26th, 1965 . The front bearing retainer is cast C5AR-7050-B and the tailhousing is cast C3DR-7A040-A. The transmission is very clean inside with no chipped or broken teeth, corrosion, or other damage. The transmission spins through all 3 forward gears and reverse smoothly with no binding or sloppiness.
