Description

Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box for Small Bowls

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc.

This rectangular vintage wooden storage box with a lid is made to hold bowls for soup. It can also be used for general storage of trinkets or use for display or other crafts/projects. It has two similarly-sized compartments. It has slots on the bottom for a flat cord for tying.
