The 16th Armored Division was a division of the United States Army that existed during World War II. It was activated in 1943 and participated in several key campaigns in Europe, including the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. The division was involved in the liberation of the Buchenwald concentration camp and played a significant role in the final defeat of Nazi Germany.

After World War II, the 16th Armored Division was inactivated in 1946. Since then, the division has not been reactivated for service.
