Improving digestion and absorption in the body of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids (fats):
- betaine HCl (hydrochloric acid) converts pepsinogen into pepsin which, together with the proteases: pancreatin (contains trypsin, chemotrypsin, elastase, carboxypepsidase, ribonuclease, deoxyribonuclease), bromelain and papain, transforms food proteins into amino acids from which the body synthesizes essential proteins for cellular metabolism
- lactase transforms lactose into glucose and galactose which can cross the intestinal barrier
- cellulase transforms cellulose (the indigestible component of food fibers) into glucose; cellulase enzyme is not produced by the human body, so it needs to be supplied from outside
- diastase (composed of alpha and beta-amylase) and mycozyme (fungal alpha amylase) transform starch into maltose and glucose; betaamylase does not exist in the human body, therefore it is necessary to obtain it from the outside
- lipase breaks down lipids into absorbable forms (glycerol and fatty acids)
- alpha d-galactosidase breaks down non-digestible carbohydrates from vegetables, greens, fruits (e.g.: raffinose) into glucose and galactose that can be absorbed by intestinal cells
