Description - Splendid 19th century French good gauge solid silver snuff box of rectangular form with a hinged lid and thumb piece

lid decorated with a central floral reserve, within blue enamelled Gothic arcading border, 

the sides and base engraved with bright cut hand engraved C-scrolls, floral sprays with a mix of engine turned patterns

silver-gilt (gold washed) interior 

French hallmarked inner rim with lozenge maker’s mark ‘L B’ and Minerva head "2" post 1838 guarantee mark and indicating 800/ 1000 solid silver fineness

Condition - In good condition, no dents, dings, dinks, splits, holes, repairs

hinge strong closing the lid secure and flush

decoration crisp and clear but there is enamel loss to the centre and sides (please inspect end photographs)

interior silver gilt is bright but there is loss to the bottom
