This auction is for a rare original antique illustrated American Wire Fabrics, “Handy Hints For Making Window Door And Porch Screens”, advertising booklet. This booklet was removed from an advertising scrapbook that it was kept it in for roughly the last 100 years. The brochure is marked in part as follows: HANDY HINTS FOR MAKING WINDOW DOOR AND PORCH SCREENS. AMERICAN WIRE FABRICS CORP. GOLD STRAND. QUALITY BRAND SCREEN WIRE CLOTH. © 1928 BY WICKWIRE SPENCER STEEL CO. The booklet includes several illustrations and/or images with descriptions. It measures roughly 5” x 3 1/2”. The booklet has a total of 20 pages including the front and rear covers. The booklet has aging, yellowing, discoloration, light edge wear, scratches, lightly bumped corners, dirty and/or stained areas, manufacturing imperfections, and indentation marks caused by the brochure sitting and being pressed against another brochure when it was originally sitting in the scrapbook that it was removed from. It was attached to the scrapbook page using two circular tabs (half of each tab was adhered to the page and the other half was adhered to the back page of the item). This created a hinge-like effect that made it possible to still read the material inside. Part of both of these circular tabs are still adhered to the back page of the brochure (see pictures). The brochure appears to be free of any rips or tears. This rare original antique illustrated American Wire Fabrics, “Handy Hints For Making Window Door And Porch Screens”, advertising booklet is sure to be a nice addition to your collection.
