Description - Delightful mid 19th century solid silver snuff box of rectangular form with curved sides, hinged lid and scroll thumb piece
all sides are embellished with engine turned decoration, plus a vacant central cartouche
silver-gilt (gold washed) interior.
Fully hallmarked with leopards head for London assay, lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, Queen's head, date letter "h" for the year 1843 and the maker's mark "ES" which is Edward Smith.
Condition - Generally very good condition, no dents, dinks, ding, splits, holes, repairs
engine turned decoration generally good but lid has rubbing toward the central area
hinge tight and secure and the interior gilding has become very thin.
