I have up for sale a handsome art deco vintage original circa 1926 Illinois Men's 12 Size Pocket Watch with Gold Filled or Rolled Gold Scepter yellow gold case. The movements serial number is 4823456 which dates the manufacture to approx 1926 , makes it a Grade 405 , Model 3 , 17 Jewel , 12 Size , manual wind pendant set pocket watch.

The case is stamped Scepter which is was a Gold Filled or Rolled Gold Plate case models made by Star Watch Case Co.  The case has wonderful Art Deco engraved designs as you can see. It is in Very Good estate fresh and As Found condition . Some modest plating wear and such in spots but nothing significant.

The watch runs but it needs servicing as it seems simple movement may cause it to stop . If I simply lay it down after winding it , it runs with good consistency and fairly good accuracy . On the other hand , if it gets moved - it may stop . Once you give it a shake it will start back up. It winds easily and sets as it should. It starts up after a good winding but it has some inconsistencies that I have observed over the short period of time that I have watched it.  What this tells me is that its not a serious issue but needs servicing to pin point the issue. I purchased the watch many years back and its been sitting unused in a drawer since then , with no idea as to when it was last serviced and in the least , the movement needs to be cleaned and oiled , just for normal maintenance. It may need some minor repair as well , I am not an expert. What i do know is that it is running - which is a good thing. The bad part is that it might stop because just because I picked it up from where it was laying.

The crystal is plastic and its a bit foggy. I would replace it , if I were going to keep it for myself.
