LOVELY & TYPICAL, DARKEST BLUE & WHITE, UNUSED, NEW, NWT,  AUTHENTIC, LADIES' JAPANESE NEMAKI (YUKATA), LINED KIMONO WITH MATCHING BELT ,  GORGEOUS TYPICAL & TRADITIONAL DESIGN of CHRYSANTHEMUM FLOWERS & STREAMS IN AUSPICUOUS KANOKO DOT PATTERN

It is rare to find an excellent example of a nemaki kimono. It is new and unused and supplied still folded in its original packaging.

It has a typical, lovely, traditional pattern.

The kimono is made of light weight, fine, soft, cotton with a smooth, slightly gauze-like texture.  It is formed in the traditional style and is fully lined with fine, soft, white gauze cotton.

This Nemaki is the typical very darkest blue and white colouring.
It has a typical Japanese botanical design of traditional chrysanthemum flowers. There are also meandering lines which symbolize streams. The whole pattern and background is made up of little round and square dots. These a called 'kanoko' meaning faun spots and are considered auspicious.   It is a very pretty garment!

The label is in Japanese. The care labels say it is 100% cotton,  'made in Japan' and machine washable at low temperature and to wash separately and avoid tumble drying.

The belt is typically quite short so please bear that in mind. They are supposed to be knotted with very little extra to spare.

Nemaki kimonos are sometimes called yukata in the UK but in fact this is not correct. Yukata are summer kimono worn outside for summer events such as festivals. Whereas nemaki are worn indoors as dressing gowns, bathrobes or sleepwear. They are generally finer cotton, shorter in length and often have a matching belt (as in this case).

In Japan this nemaki is a woman's kimono (the sleeve slit is larger and open on a woman's kimono) and the pattern is feminine compared to men's.

AGE & CONDITION: I think this nemaki is recently made, so Heisei Period (1989- 2019). It is new with tags and in new condition with some creasing only from being folded in the packaging.
This is an unworn item which will be supplied, refolded, in its original packaging.

SIZE: This nemaki is fairly typical size for these kind of garments. It is labeled as 'L' which relates to the length rather than the body size which is typical for Japanese sizes.

The body size is fairly average for these kinds of garment which are designed for sleepwear and to be a little roomy for comfort.  Japanese clothes sizes do not necessarily equate to UK standards so please check the measurements given below against your own dressing gown to compare.

I think it would fit a range of sizes at it is a wrap round style, up to a maximum of UK size 14 but please check the belt is long enough.

Cuff to cuff width is 130cm/51”.

Overall length is 135cm/53".

The width across the back (side seam to side seam) is 62cm/24.5". The width all around at the waist from the front of one side, all the way round the back, to the front of the other side is about 54"/137cm. Please remember you need a good crossover in the front.

The belt is typically quite short at 53"/135cm long. It weighs about 400g.

If you need any more information or pictures just send me a message.

All information is to the best of my knowledge. Please bear in mind, that colours do not always show absolutely accurately on photos and on monitors although they should be close to reality.

My items are mostly vintage and are not returnable unless grossly mis-described, so please check the details and measurements before bidding/buying. Please be aware that vintage clothing does not usually 'look like new' even when it is in excellent condition. Some slight general signs of ageing and use should be expected. If these are conspicuous, they will be mentioned in the description.

Delivery Address – I can only post to the address shown on the paypal/ebay payment, otherwise none of us are protected by the paypal/ebay policies.

Payment and postage terms: The postal charge includes a small packaging and handling charge. eBay now charge a final value fee commission on the postal charge as well as the item value. So I have had to pass this new cost on via the postal cost.

UK buyers – I have to used tracked postage now to protect both the buyer and seller in case of problems with delivery.

On post to overseas.- I am now using the eBay Global Shipping Programme, so the shipping rates are not set buy me. Once the item has left my hands, the control of the shipping is with eBay.

Please note that once the parcel has left my hands, I cannot accept responsibility for the performance of the postal services or customs in your country. Or for any customs or import duties/taxes charged in your country.

Combined postage for UK buyers, depending on what you buy, I will look into the most secure and economical way to send combined parcels and advise you of options. But, as the weight and value of the parcel rises so does the postage cost. Please do not expect large savings on combined postage. Sometimes it is actually cheaper to send more than one parcel.
