STUNNING,  NEW AND UNUSED, ELEGANT, LUSTROUS COTTON, JAPANESE-MADE, KIMONO-STYLE SHORT DRESSING GOWN / ROBE  or JACKET- with matching Belt - ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS - Beautiful Design of GOLD CHERRY BLOSSOM with FAN & BOOK-SHAPED PANELS WITH COLOURFUL FLOWERS PLANTS AND PRINCESS with lots of Gold Detailing

You are offered a new and beautiful, soft, feminine, top quality, fine, cotton, Japanese-made kimono dressing gown / robe. This is a garment that is a little difficult to photograph so I hope you can see how pretty it is. The base colour is a deep black

The previous owner told me it was a gift from Japan a few years ago which was never used.

This maker still makes this robe today but I don't think is this shorter length.  You can see the same pattern of robe in the long length on this page https://shop.japanobjects.com/products/japanese-gold-long-kimono-robe where it is selling at $70 which is about £81GBP.

So these robes are quality and quite expensive.

The fabric is a smooth, soft and lustrous cotton.

The fabric is predominantly covered with semi lustrous gold cherry blossom flowers and hanging branches of cherry blossom. Then there are colourful panels, they are in the shapes of fans or open books. They are decorated with typical Japanese flowers and plants of many sorts including peonies, chrysanthemums, iris, plum blossom, cherry blossom and bamboo. The flowers are coloured in many different beautiful shades. There is a lot of gold outlining and detailing which adds richness.

There is also a depiction of a 'hime' princess, a Heian Period (7794-1185) noblewomen who would have worn long hair and multilayered kimonos and is considered a symbol of feminine beauty. There are also some wavy lines representing water and some small hexagon patterns called 'kikko' symbolizing long life.

It has a long matching belt and one front pocket.

It has a label from a top quality Japanese maker Kyoto Sen'i but the logi is a bit different from their normal one so perhaps it is an older model. They are the best maker of this kind of robe in my opinion. I have some of their robes myself. The care label shows that the robe is cotton and washable at 40 degrees. I have washed similar ones that I own, many times and they always look as good as new.

SIZE : Although it is a 'one size fits all' garment because it is a wrap round style - I think it would fit a range of sizes up to a maximum of UK size 10/12.

The length is below hip length, depending on your height about 34"/86cm long.

The width across the back (armpit to armpit) is 23"/58.5cm. This sounds quite large but the cut of this kimono has a bit less width in the front than the longer version. The width all around the kimono at the waist, from the front of one edge all the way round the back to the front of the other edge, is around 47"/119.5cm and please remember that you need a good overlap in the front. The robe weighs 350g. The belt is around 80"/203cm long.

AGE & CONDITION: It is fairly contemporary but I think this length is now disconitued. It is in brand new condition, the belt was still stitched to the collar hanging loop until I took it out for the photos.

If you need any more information or pictures just send me a message.

All information is to the best of my knowledge. Please bear in mind, that colours do not always show absolutely accurately on photos and on monitors although they should be close to reality.

My items are mostly vintage and are not returnable unless grossly mis-described, so please check the details and measurements before bidding/buying. Please be aware that vintage clothing does not usually 'look like new' even when it is in excellent condition. Some slight general signs of ageing and use should be expected. If these are conspicuous, they will be mentioned in the description.

Low feedback
– For auctions, if you have less than 3 feedbacks, please email me before bidding. If you do not, I may cancel your bid and block you from bidding until we have communicated. Sorry about this but it is based on previous experience of problems.

Delivery Address – I can only post to the address shown on the paypal/ebay payment, otherwise none of us are protected by the paypal/ebay policies.

Payment and postage terms: The postal charge includes a small packaging and handling charge. eBay now charge a final value fee commission on the postal charge as well as the item value. So I have had to pass this new cost on via the postal cost.

UK buyers – I have to used tracked postage now to protect both the buyer and seller in case of problems with delivery.

On post to overseas.- I am now using the eBay Global Shipping Programme, so the shipping rates are not set buy me. Once the item has left my hands, the control of the shipping is with eBay.

Please note that once the parcel has left my hands, I cannot accept responsibility for the performance of the postal services or customs in your country. Or for any customs or import duties/taxes charged in your country.

Combined postage for UK buyers, depending on what you buy, I will look into the most secure and economical way to send combined parcels and advise you of options. But, as the weight and value of the parcel rises so does the postage cost. Please do not expect large savings on combined postage. Sometimes it is actually cheaper to send more than one parcel.

RETURNS POLICY – I do not take returns except in the exceptional circumstance of an item being wrongly described. Please understand that selling items on ebay and posting them out incurs costs to me, so please don't buy unless you have read the description carefully and are sure that you want the item. Except in the situation where an item has been wrongly described, the buyer is always responsible for return postage.
