GIANT MAMMOTH RUSSIAN

 "GREY STRIPE"

SUNFLOWER SEEDS

Talk about making a statement in the garden! Mammoth Grey Stripe has huge blooms, growing up to 10" across. Each bloom sits atop stems that grow to be 8-12 ft tall. Extremely fun to watch grow, Mammoth Grey Stripe is a great choice for scattering throughout the meadow, using as a background or privacy screen, or creating a child's first garden. Massive seed heads are good for harvesting and roasting or leaving in place to feed birds. An heirloom, open-pollinated Sunflower, Mammoth Grey Stripe is loved by a variety of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, too. Talk about making a statement in the garden! It is recommended to sow your sunflower seeds directly into your garden rather than start them in starter pots. Sunflowers send down long taproots that can be stunted in small pots. Once all danger of frost has passed and both daytime and nighttime temperatures reach 55F to 60F you are ready to sow your sunflower seeds. Sunflowers grow best in full-sun locations – receiving at least 6 to 8 hours of full sun exposure per day. Though sunflowers are not finicky, they do appreciate loose, well-draining soil. Choose a location that is sheltered from strong winds, perhaps along a fence or near a building.

3) Place the zip lock bag on top of a heated propagator mat to keep the temperature between 75-80 degrees F at all times.

4) Expect germination between 7-10 days, with some germinating much earlier.
