Item Title

Battery Operated Jeep Electric Running Tin 1960 Original

Description

Battery Operated! Swiveling Wheels! Jeep! This is a Motorized Tin Jeep. The body is made of tinplate, the tires are made of rubber, and the overall length is about 12cm. The motor inside is a cast magnet motor (nostalgic type with a protrusion on the side), and it must be from the late '50s or early '60s, around the 30s of the Showa period. Usually, the back of printed tinplate is often covered with cheap plating or waste material such as cans, but this one has a military-like olive color, which makes me wonder if it was made in such a color on purpose or if it was made from recycled tinplate of any kind of ration, which makes my personal speculation grow! The print on the box suggests that it was made by the Japanese manufacturer KO (Yoshiya) for export to the American toy manufacturer AHI.Batteries are inserted from under the body, and the motor is turned by a switch next to the seat. The construction is simple, but the tin jeep is quite tasteful. The item was stored unused, but it is an old toy, and both the body and the box have some age-related marks and scratches.
