Good cards will definitely have some imperfections and will begin to show wear. This wear will not be excessive but will almost always be present and potentially in numerous forms, potentially including:

• Nicks or dings
• Edge wear
• Corner wear
• Scratches or scuffs on holofoil 
• Other imperfections

Played

Played cards will definitely have imperfections and these can be excessive and likely in numerous forms including:

• Severe nicks or dings
• Severe edge wear
• Severe corner wear
• Multiple and potentially deep scratches or scuffs on holofoil 
• Numerous other imperfections, potentially including water damage
