Georgia interstate 85 route marker.

Up for sale today is this Georgia interstate 85 route sign. Made to the exact 1957 standard from the origins of the Eisenhower interstate highway system. this design was supplanted by the modern shield style - often with the state name omitted! - in 1971, and it gets harder and harder to find the original-style interstate route markers in many states.

This sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and is 18 by 18 inches, the smallest of three sizes specified in the original 1957 signage manual (the other sizes are 24" and 36"). it is a non-reflective sign - perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors. (if you would like a different size version, please ask as I can certainly make one!)

Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!

I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
