This portrait was engraved by Georg Sigmund Facius & Johann Gottlieb Facius (Born in Germany, the Facius brothers studied engraving techniques in Brussels. Excelling in the stipple medium they produced many portraits, decorative, religious and mythological subjects) after Hans Holbein and the very similar larger edition of 1792-1800, mostly engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi.

Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 24.2 x 32.9 cm. The image size is ca. 12.8 x 19.4 cm. Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 9.5 x 13 inch. The image size is ca. 5 x 7.6 inch.
Medium: Stipple engraving on vellin type paper. The colouring is done on the copper plate (a la poupée), so the colours are actually printed. This is done in a very delicate manner. The result is of rarely equaled quality! The colour paper chosen mimics the paper used by Holbein on the original drawings.
