British Columbia Highway 99 sign.

Up for sale today is this British Columbia route 99 sign. Highway 99 is the connector to US Highway 99 in Washington State (now numbered to interstate 5) and is a major route in Vancouver and travels to many places further north, such as Surrey, Delta, and Richmond. this sign is made to the exact 1960 standard that was the first sign with a colored provincial emblem, but with the black border and numerals before they switched to blue in the 1970s.

The sign is 14 x 16 1/4 inches and weighs a solid 5 pounds, 2 ounces, as it is constructed out of durable, heavy steel, for an appearance that is nearly indistinguishable from the old porcelain signs that were originally used back in the day. (if you would like a different route number, I can certainly make that as well!)

This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!

Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any city name of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and route shield signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
