These carefree, vibrant gaillardias are the perennial variety.  They look like a real summer fiesta in reds and yellows.  They are a hardy perennial for dry and sandy soils, meadows, roadsides.  Full sun works well for these.  Low-growing, they reach about 12-18 inches tall on average when blooming,  The blooming starts in July and extends for a good month or two, and then they can bloom sporadically into the fall, sometimes putting out a second flushes in September.
