Mission Santa Barbara highway sign.

Up for sale today is this El Camino Real highway sign for Mission Santa Barbara, founded December 1st, 1786. the sign shows the distances to the nearest two missions: Santa Buena Ventura to the south, and Santa Inez to the north. The sign is made to the exact standards as used around 1915-1928 by the Auto Club of Southern California to sign all the missions along El Camino Real.

An original of these, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. This sign is a faithful remake to the correct size (30 by 12 inches), and weighs about 9 pounds, 3 ounces. please note that I can make an El Camino Real sign for any of the missions, in northern or southern California. inquire about custom orders!

This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!

Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any city name of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and route shield signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
