This auction is for a rare original antique illustrated 1920s The Dormeyer Electric Beater Macleod Manufacturing Company folding advertising brochure. This brochure was removed from an advertising scrapbook that it was kept it in for roughly the last 100 years. We are unsure as to the brochure’s exact age but are fairly certain that it dates back to the mid to late 1920s. The brochure is marked in part as follows: THE DORMEYER ELECTRIC BEATER. “IT BEATS, WHIPS AND MIXES FASTER AND MORE THOROUGHLY” SAVES ACHING ARMS, NUMBER WRISTS AND BRUISED HANDS. THE MACLEOD MFG. CO. CHICAGO, ILL. PRINTED IN U.S.A. The brochure includes several illustrations and/or images with descriptions. It measures roughly 6 3/8” x 3 1/2” when folded and 6 3/8” x 10 1/2” when fully opened. The brochure has aging, yellowing, wrinkles, manufacturing imperfections, and dirty and/or stained areas. It was attached to the scrapbook page using two circular tabs (half of each tab was adhered to the page and the other half was adhered to the back page of the item). This created a hinge-like effect that made it possible to still read the material inside. Part of both of these circular tabs are still adhered to the back page of the brochure (see pictures). The brochure appears to be free of any rips or tears.
