It has been explained in the Autodarts community that increasing resolution seems to have no impact on accuracy, but it is not recommended to purchase only the cheapest camera, as shown in the picture:

After our professional evaluation and recommendations from experienced players, in fact, the 8MP has the best effect. It can reduce the resolution to 1280720 30fps. Due to its use of Sony chips, it presents a better effect than the OV brand. In terms of hardware, the image quality presented by the dart disc after LED lighting is clearer and more delicate, which is also strongly recommended after our evaluation. On the other hand, 8MP can choose a resolution of 1280X960 to increase the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3, which will be more suitable for dart discs. Of course, considering economic attributes, we also recommend OV9732 and 2MP modules.

As shown in the comparison above, under the performance of OV9732, the image will exhibit line whitening under supplementary lighting, resulting in poor balance effect and high noise. Under the performance of the 8MP module, the image quality is uniform, with low noise and delicate image quality.
