Torso Figure,Wooden Arms And Legs, moveable joints,120 Cms tall..

This is an unusual  large torso figure,120cms tall, white, with moveable wooden arms and hands. The joints work by means of springs and can be adjusted into several positions,as in the photos. There is a limit to how far the arms can be raised (certainly as far as is seen in the photo's) as it is now,and I am selling it on that basis, but I believe that it is possible to adjust the tension by means of the springs. The wrists turn, the fingers move, the arms flex at the elbows. The arms can be detached at the shoulders.

I am not sure exactly what the figure is made from,I thought maybe fibreglass but it has no flecks in it so may be best described as being made from some sort of very tough plastic.

There are a couple of things to mention.Firstly, the middle finger of one hand is missing two digits. It is not particularly noticeable,as it happens, but I believe that these hands can be purchased separately.

Secondly, there is a metal stand. The figure can be freestanding without the stand, but when the arms are outstretched forward it cause the figure to tilt forwards. The stand keeps it solid and upright. In theory the figure should be able to move up and down the metal pole.In reality, the joint through which the figure should slide up and down is a bit lightweight for the purpose. It does lift a little way,but not at the full height to which it might have been intended. It might be possible to rectify this, but I think that the figure stands as a striking decorative piece as it is.It certainly has a presence.

I have described the figure as best as I can, please also see the photos.

This item is collection only, between Leeds and Wetherby.

Ps.Please note that the original title said 'movable arms and LEGS.That was an aberration. It obviously doesn't have legs,it is a torso. It has moveable arms and HANDS..As in the photo's.Apologies for that.
